Anyone no if i can put a alpine cd changer in my 05 plate terrano. Sold my 98 plate terrano 2. But took the cd changer out of it before it went its the one that sits under the back seat. Think they where a standard fit. It only had one owner and i no he did not put it in. Anyway its a CHM-5630 Its got all the leads plus the little box of tricks that plugs in the radio. Mine is fitted with the standard nissan cd radio. With out me smashing all the dash up thought i would ask first. Can not see how the radio comes out found 2 screws behind ash tray thats all.If this does fit that will save me taking my trailer everywhere with all my cd in. That will be one in the radio and six in the changer :thumbs

do a quick search, we coverd radio removal a little while ago..

cant see why not, if you got button on the wheel, they might not work though

You can fit pretty much any aftermarket stereo but there are a few things to bear in mind.

1. You usually need a wiring adaptor. There are two types, one that covers almost everything (and also fits the Micra) and a different one that you need if you have steering wheel controls as the loom is not the same (the facelift T2 was fitted with the Primara steering wheel I believe).

2. Getting the dash off is a bit of a PITA in the facelift, but there are several threads.... basically you start by running a sharp knife carefully round the black plate around the radio and it wll pop out with a bit of persuasion - you will find more screws behind it plus the radio mounting screws - usually its held in place with two brackets that you have to remove and fit to your new head unit. Can't recall as its been a while but don't think you need to remove the console itself.

3. There is one variant that has an oddball surround that you need to replace to fit a new stereo, but can't remember when/where it was fitted. It has the hazard switch integrated as opposed to just 'set in' like the facelift usually does.

Just have a go, its fairly intuitive once you get going....

Peter first thing to check is that the head unit provides steering wheel/remote control capability....if it doesn't, all the leads in the world won't help. If it DOES, then you need to buy a connector specific to that head unit.....the cabling is all in place up to the existing OEM head unit plugs.
