First of all, Ford decided to fit their own radio, and decided, I believe, to fit a seperate amplifier which on mine anyway, is under the Driver's seat.
This means that the wiring you want for the fitted speakers start at the amplifier, so some extensive wiring to do prior to fitting, not just a plug to socket adaptor... I could be wrong...:augie
Guys, we are talking a Ford Maverick Mk I Not a Terrano II of the same year lol...

Yes Im pretty sure you are right Rustic. That said shouldn't be too difficult to run new speaker wires out to the speakers surely, just time consuming to do it neatly. Wonder if there are any form of cross over units between woofers and tweeters?

The actual physical fit should be ok, only a single din size. I've fitted a single din stereo in my 1999 truck.

So I reckon your only difficulty will be the amplifier and speaker wires.

Whether it's worth fitting or not, I'd be doing a bit more research before buying from that site.
It's a Chinese company with no viewable contact details, no phone number, no address. If it's crap, you'll just have to bin it.
I'm dealing with a Chinese company for my barbecue bowls, so this isn't China bashing, it's just not a very convincing web site.
Just sayin'.

This is going to sound nasty so sorry but I wouldn't wast my money on that stereo you can get a nice Alpine etc stereo for £60 which will sound 10 times better. Wiring will be easy as you will need the ISO to main harness patch lead just plug in the stereo power side & run new speaker wires to the speakers if it has the ford amp fitted which I think lives under the passenger seat but not all Mav's got the amp I think

Hi guys thanks for the feedback
The radio in it now is a Sony
The box under the drivers seat has nothing plugged into it.
Sunday I will pull the radio out and take a picture of the back of it.
I have dealt with the Chinese company before, they seem trustworthy, a watch I bought less than a fiver was in pieces, I sent a picture they credited my PayPal account the same day
I did catch a cold some years ago, I thought I was buying from a UK company, the goods were dispatched from near Heathrow, were defective, OK they said send it back for a refund:eek: to Hong Kong:doh, Pay Pal did not help so I am cautious, still have the item it is worth less than the postage

As shit as they are Halfords have some cracking deals on stereos tbh, the daughters not long bought a kenwood with usb/aux etc for £50.
I wouldn't let them fit it mind but you'll get the iso cable and all you need from them.

Go for a make you know !

I too would go with a make you know for my last Radio upgrade I went to a local Auto Electricians.
I did a deal on a technically used radio where they had upgraded one in a new car - they had a lot of decent "as new sets" to suit your pocket as buyers want to upgrade to integrated Satnavs etc.

The radio is here, wiring looks simple so will give it a go at weekend:confused:

I will take pics of all stages.
Things are pretty hectic right now, run up for Xmas everyone wants their worktops fitted tomorrow:doh

i put a cheap head unite in just to fill the gap,had iso so for 1699 a decent sounding sound source.

Yes it will

This cheapo radio works fine.:thumbs
Cut the Sony plug off the loom plugs, I think the bloke from helfords said it was an ISO plug, anyway wires were a similar colour except there were no purple on the ISO just a pair of blacks that the Sony wiring diagram identified as the same speakers as the cheapo.
A bit of solder and Aldi shrink stuff and plug it in success, after weeks of silence I have radio again.
Just need to figure out how to get the metal sleeve off the radio to fit it to the dash
The biggest problem was my lack of colour vision:doh, I am red/green colour blind, a guy from the facebook group helped out on that after I sent pictures
I will do a quick write up on facebook, too much of a pain posting pictures here, unless I can send via my phone which I did on facebook
I took a short video so I can get feedback on how it sounds.

Radio success

all systems go, all bands working 18 presets in FM
Bluetooth paired to my phone auto, so for the <£15 I paid for it is it a cheap hands free with radio
Not tried SD 3.5 audio or USB yet
