Hi All,

I have a 1998 2.4i SWB Terrano, occasionally when I start it up neither the Radio or the Heater Blower work.

If I turn it off and back on it usually comes back on.

The ignition switch has the good old problem with the contacts so I have to be gentle when turning the key for it to start, could this have something to do with it.

Cheers

When you actually turn the engine into start mode all other items are disconnected, radio, heater, I think the wipers too, will be turned off while the engine is cranking.
So it looks like the ignition switch as you suggested.
The biggest loss will be the windscreen wipers, so it becomes a safety issue.
best regards, Rustic

I agree that it sounds like the switch that is causing the problem. Even if it isn't causing this problem and you know it is worn it really is a good idea to change it before it lets you down all together.
