radio and aircon go off when I start up

Strange problem with my 3.0 sve electrics. When I start the car the radio and aircon goes off. If I only turn the key to the first or second position they are fine. when I actualy engage the starter and fire the engine up the radio goes off and stays off. However this is not every time only intermitant ie probably every other time I start up. If I try to start up a couple of times eventualy it stay on.
Once on all functions are fine.
Does anyone have any ideas, my suspision is ignition switch.

intermittant electrical problems are usually caused by loose/corroded connections , or badly fitted items running off another circuit than the one designed . yes id look at the ign switch , but before that id look at the condition of the fuse box , relays etc, if the radio has been fitted incorrectly it s possible its running off the nearest live which maybe the aircon supply .
