Hey Guy's. Any idea where I can get a cheap radiator for a Mistral auto as the plastic pipe that the top hose goes onto has dissintergrated leaving 5mm of pipe! I do not believe they are made of plastic.
Milners have intercooler only....none on scambay - blast.

finding a correct radiator for a mistral is like looking for rocking horse droppings .... believe me ive tried

repair it, solder a bit of copper tube in, easy, shame you are way up there, I could have done it for you in about ten mins, Rick

I assume the top of the rad is brass? but now you have me at it so just gone and had a look at mine and the whole top is plastic, so yes forget soldering you need a bit of plastic waste pipe that will slide inside your top pipe tight, then araldite it in, you can get high temperature waste pipe from you local plumbers, failing that you could inquire at your local rad refurb place and see if they can replace the top complete, Rick

Yes Rick - that sounds like a good way to fix it and I will give that a try. I was gonna give that a go but some thieving swine has nicked my brand new stash of araldite (it's not me - I havn't even seen it) is the reply off all.
Of course it would go when just the wife is in the truck....she has only drove it 3 times and then had to call the AA - bugger

do not know, the Mistral has an oil cooler in the bottom, I would assume the T2 auto is the same but it may not be, who has a T2 auto that can check, but if it is the same then the same situation arises, they are very hard to find, Rick

but ours are td mistrals ......... not tdi ...... perhaps there is a difference ? ......i dunno

I think my mistral is the same as yours Briggie, even black over gold too. The AA bloke said in time the heat makes the plastic pipe go brittle and then they just shatter. Aahhh well
another job to do - not many to go (I hope)
