hi, i just bought what is labelled as a nissan terrano 2.7 td 1996 model, imported from japan in 2003. looking deeper into this i dont think its a terrano but a hilux surf shell and interior,
i wanted the terrano as a 7 seater and am now stuck with a 5 seater as i cant get the terrano seats i was given to fit in to the boot in between arches, neither is there fixing points for seat belts just a lot of load holding clips.

Any ideas or help on how to convert to a seven seater?

Cheers
pics coming soon

Sounds like you may have a Mk1 Terrano maybe even the R3M model, do you have any photos? The Terrano II wasn't sold in Japan as Terrano, it was branded Mistral.

Des it look anything like either of these

R3Ms are the top of the range model - that looks like it will be one of the R50 platform versions.

You got a nice looking motor there Rabbit but I don't think that you will be able to fit the 3rd row in safely. How did you manage to buy that version then instead of the Terrano 2/Mistral?

my girlfriend wanted it as it looked nice, got it cheap just needed gearbox sorting

can someone give me model spec on this then is it a terrano 1 or 2 an r3m ??????????????? in a bit of limbo to which car i own at the mo.

Did i get a rare bargain?

Looks nice M8 :thumbs
Be even better once ya get it on the road :thumbs

Any body any ideas as to what this car is then and if it possible to get the 6/7th seat for it or to modify one to fit?

i was informed that all terranos mistrals mavericks were the same but now i seem to have a unique one off lol

If you stay online this evenig  the 1's more in the know will be online ;):thumbs

R3M's tend to be higher spec and come have different engines etc.

Looks like the Pathfinder R50 version but can't be certain from the piccies.

Have a look at the front suspension, R20 Terrano (and D21) have a twin wishbone set up with shock absorber and torsin bars. R50 Pathfinder have Macpherson struts and coil springs.

Lighter - no

Faster - maybe, depends what engine you have.

as you can see, the t2 is called mistral, where as the mistral is called terrano!! if you want 7 seats I suggest you do a swop for a lwb t2.....bri

it has the macpherson struts and coil springs so im guessing i have a

pathfinder r50 r3m ???????????

not a terrano 2/ mistral
it seems ive got a very rare car in really good condition.

So come on offers to tempt me ?

R3mR

I have one as well!

I have seen three others in the Derby area so plenty of them about.

Mine is a 1995/6 Automatic and is badged as a Terrano R3mR.

R3Mr

Snap I've got exactly the same. I finally got it's ID sorted. In UK it's a Terrano 2 in The rest of the civilised world it's called a Pathfinder R50. I managed to get a handbook off the web about £20 and several of the specalist dismantlers are aware of the model. As to rear seats for 7 seats nonavailable here as it seems rear arches intrude a little more that Terrano.
