after replacing all three belts. No more squealing on cold start, quite a bit less engine noise and vibrations - I wouldn't be surprised if there is slightly better mpg now as well.

Belts, especially the smallest one at the very bottom, were definitely on their way out. I also found three different belts, and I think different ages. Makes me wonder what the previous owner paid his mechanic for...

I noticed the pulley bearing (from the pulley you have to slack off to undo the lower belt) is not running as silent and smooth as it should. Anyone already replaced that one?

I too need to do this job, I think the pulley on my AC Compressor is starting to squeal :(
 
Well, no, because then your arms need to be even longer :)
 
Depends which end up you're tackling the job from :sly

I find the front end is best for changing the belts:thumbs
Would need arms like Mr tickle to do it from the back:lol
