Quick Belt Question..

Anyone know if the fan belt & the power steering belt are the same?
Got 2 as spares yesterday and they are the same number, alway thought they was different belts? :nenau

Usually different sizes in length and thickness

Both belts are the same on my 2.7TD 1995 model (no Aircon)

Mine are different 1995 2.4 petrol no air con

Thanks, ours is a tdi without aircon, had alook at the old ones without taking them off they look the same(ish)

These are the easiest belts i've ever done :augie

yes they are exactly the same belt - and I think you mean alternator belt and power steering belt (the latter runs the fan/water pump as well)

and if you get stuck in an emergency it means you can put the alternator belt on to the PS pump/water pump, cos being a diesel you need very little battery power, in the daylight at least! Just turn everything else off....

and easy peasy to fit. :thumbs
