Is it possible to fit the 2.7 injection pump 180 degrees out in timing ?
Would the engine even run in such a scenario ?

i changed my 2.7ip and the way its timed i would say no you cant put it in 180 out.the timing marks must be spot on.when i changed mine i even left the pump gear in situe and lined ip the woodruff key.it took a bit of bleeding but when it fired up it did not miss a beat.

Thats kind of what I thought. Rebuilt and retimed this lump so many times now I'm beginning to question myself ???
Onwards 😀

Have you still got problems then Pete? Rick

Can you explain the inj pump firing sequence please Rick ? That is to say, crank turns twice to one revolution of the inj pump.
This is all in relation to the possibility or not of fitting the pump in the wrong orientation to firing order. I believe it's not possible if all the timing marks line up but need to understand this bit of goings on, so I can move forward :doh

One revolution of the pump = all 4 cylinders being fed with fuel Pete, not sure exactly what you are seeking here, if you want to determin the exact spill point of No 1 cylinder then you need to make yourself a test pipe using an old injector pipe and bend it so the outlet is bolt upright, then turn the engine/pump by hand till fuel shows, then wipe the top with your finger till fuel is just level with the top of the pipe, turn the engine/pump slowly until the fuel just moves, this is No 1 spill point or the start of the injection, Rick

Rick, thats exactly what I needed to know. I was afraid I could have mis timed the pump somehow. Even though I have everything timed as per the manual. I needed to clarify in my head at least the one revolution to 4 injections.
Cheers Rick, I'll check nozzle dribble tomorrow , ooo er misses 😅
