Does any one suffer from there terrano 2 pulling constantly to the left. even after the tracking as been done. is there a cure?

When you say tracking, do you mean wheel alignment?

Basic tracking won't really check the wheel alignement, I got mine done at Budget Tyres last year, cost £45, but solved the pulling to the left & inside edge tyre wear.

Also I have a theory that tyre wear itself (maybe abnormal tyre wear??) increased the pulling to the left, have you swaped front & rear tyres recently, and did it make any difference?

Mine has always pulled to the left a bit  But the ride height is a bit lower on the n/s & I think this has something to do with it as it will have alterd the suspension angles on the n/s

ws under impression that a slight pull to left was a design feature or characteristic of the t2. mine does and not noticed excessive wear.

Two new front tyres on the front about a year ago and wheel alinment and toe in adjusted, but seem to be pulling to the n/s more and more.

I had the same problem.... Took it and got the wheel alignment done when it had the new tyres done, now it almost spot on, very very slight Left pull, but I figure road camber does that. I have noticed the tyre wear is much better.

The guy doing it told me that Terrano’s and 4x4’s are not as easy to do as a std car.

When I was in the process of buying my T2, I noticed some quite noticeable wear of the inside edge of one of the front tyres, when I went on a test drive it was pulling quite noticeable to the left and the steering wheel was out of alignment.

Partly at my insistence and partly as a result of the RAC inspection the garage fitted two new front tyres and did the “tracking”. Once I had picked the car up it still seemed to pull to the left and the steering wheel was still out of alignment. So I took it back.

They put it on their machine for checking out the full geometry of the vehicle (it took nearly 3 hours) and came back with a print-out to show that everything was within spec.

The technician (Ex Nissan) explained to me that the softer suspension on 4x4s can make them more susceptible to wander as a result of the road camber, and apparently Terrano's were renowned for it.

After some discussion we came to the conclusion that the fact that the steering wheel was out of alignment to the right made the “usual” left pull seem worse as it felt like I was having to put a lot of right steer on it to correct it. Happy that there were no geometry or wheel alignment issues the technician realigned the steering wheel to centre. He then took me on a test drive down a quiet road. Firstly we ran down the Left side of the road and when he let go of the wheel we started to drift to the left, then we ran down the centre of the road, straddling the white lines, and when he let go we just carried on straight down the middle. Then we went over to the Right (wrong) side of the road and (you’ve guessed it we drifted to the right). We then swapped over and I drove doing exactly the same with the same result.

It has been nearly 2 years now, and no sign of any uneven tyre wear. She still pulls to slightly to the left, and occasionally (when it is safe to do so) just to put my mind at rest, I wander over to the middle and then the right side of the road just to confirm that she still behaves the same.

So, based on my experience, if she pulls equally to the right when driving on the right hand side of the road, and sits pretty straight when straddling the white lines, you have not got anything to worry about, but if she still pulls to the left in either of these road positions I would consider getting a full geometry check
