I have a 04 x trail cdi sve manual any body out ther can tell me why i should not add ptfe to the gear box oil, or rear diff oil, has the gear box got a semi or slipping diff, or rear slipping diff.

adding PTFE or any other anti friction agent is bad news for the syncro cones, they rely on friction to work, no friction = no syncromesh, same applies to a limited slip diff but I do not know if yours has a LSD or not, if it has you must only use LSD oil and no other additives, Rick
