right guys on the rear prop shaft on the rear of the gearbox should there be any movement. it's not the uj's . it's coming from the bit that goes into the gearbox. when driving it sound very tinny . so I had a look and there a cup on the gearbox end and there movement between the inner and outer cups. so I think they must be rubbing and make the tinny noise. is there a bearing on the small bit of prop that goes into the box? or is it just a case of it pushes in the box with splines

Is it leaking any oil at the seal?
If not then movement is not excessive.

There is slight movement, but without measuring it, difficult to say.

Yes will be little movement there is the cup bit on the gearbox on straight and not been damaged its only pushed on they normally fall of when removing the gearbox so it its slightly dented or moved it could rub on the prop

its not been leaking oil . it doesn't look damaged and like you said if it goes threw a oil seal then it not going to be too tight. thanks for that
