Transplant Work !
You will have your work cut out aligning the output shafts from the gearbox etc. Nice work as you have the skills no doubt. It will be a beast of a motor if you proceed.
As an aside a bloke in the next village to me a chap called Mr Bettinson I think his name was managed to build a motorcycle with a V8 engine in it. This was back in 1979/80. He worked at what was British Rail Locomotive Works in Derby and hand built a stainless steel frame loosely based on the Spondon Racing frame of that era.
His V8 engine was not some off the shelf american job that would have been far too easy. He obtained a pair of 998 Rally Hillman Imp engines and Siamesed the block and cast his own bell housing to mate it to a Honda gearbox.
What looked like rear panniers were in fact a pair of side mounted radiators with Kenlowe fans! His real problem was that he could not find a clutch that would last more than a few thousand miles.
It just weighed in at under the limit to tax it as a motorcycle when he registered it with DVLA. I had to do the Police Inspection prior to registration and was well impressed with his build. As he was on my foot beat I used to drop in and have a cuppa with him as the build neared completion. He got it registered okay and I would often see it on a Sunday as he went to Matlock Bath to do the promenading that takes place there most weekends.
It was featured in a few Motor Cycle Magazines back in the day. It was not the greatest handler he admitted due to its bulk but it certainly drew more spectators at Matlock than a MV Augusta or Laverda would.
