Sun was out this afternoon so I thought I would open my gay sunroof/Manley emergency exit. Now during all the rain we have had it was leaking in where the switch is but I cleaned round the seal and it seemed to cure it. So when it came to shutting it ,it slid in to place but instead of stopping on shut, it continued to tilt. So I closed it from tilt and it carried on to open The auto stop was not working. I took all the switch cowl apart and could see nothing obviously wrong . A bit of rust on the connectors but this just wiped off . So now I have to fiddle about to get it in the correct closed position.
Could this be the water that has damaged the switch, or is there a micro switch somewhere that senses closed position.

Water has probably damaged the internals of the switch

Do you want me to get a price for a new switch for you from James? He'll be able to post straight out he's pretty quick

Yes Please, So the auto stop is in the switch?

I am pretty sure the position switch is actually in the motor. There is a vent or two at the front of the motor, and then I drilled the hole in the roof for the roof light socket, some swarf went into the vent, and jammed the motor. I took it apart and cleaned it out, and I am pretty sure the switch was on the end.

I thought it would be a separate switch, Was it part of the motor or just attached to it

I can't remember, and I didn't take any pictures...

Just found this picture on Ebay,

The motor is the bit sticking out, so I guess the switch is in the gearbox part...

Switch is separate to the motor I'm sure James will have both parts and he is very quick:jesterbg:
