Hi guys, can anyone please point me in the direction of a supplier of some Pro Comp ES9000 shocks for my 1998 Terrano?

I had ordered some from a company called Paddocks, due to be delivered tomorrow only to get an email this afternoon saying they are out of stock and would have to be a special order from america...

I am only after standard length as i have had a rethink on lifting my suspension now....

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Get the Monroe adventure off eBay for £85 ish

Or kyb gas-a-just

I read up on procomp and tbh I found they got slated to hell on us and aus forums

I have just fitted the Monroe adventur shocks from Ebay. They come in black now though not yellow. Not had the truck out yet though as they were needed for the MOT today. They are thicker than the standard Nissan shocks i took off though.

I ended up getting rough country n 2.0 with 2"more travel all round paid £48 each delivered not bad has improved ride a lot and on back pushed ride height to bout 1.5" higher then with the old shocks but getting rear springs this week as I fear new shocks won't last long with only 12yr old sagging springs .

I dont think the shocks give any more hight, its the springs that do that.
They will allow more articulation but wont make any differance in normal ride height. I have extra 2" shocks on the rear of mine and its the same height as when i had the old ones on.

I can't figure it out as my bump stops were only 15mm away from axle now they r 30-35mm if old shocks are gone new 1s will help springs support body weight

Weird, shocks should not make any difference to ride height, only damping the springs

Those RC N2.0 shocks are pressurised to provide lift so I read on google

I read a lot on the jeep forums slagging them off, but I'm open minded and I'm very interested to see how they hold up and if they allow full articulation as for the money they seem on paper, a fair shock

thats what i thought before fitting the shocks but it did improve the ride height and it also did on kwondo 's terrano all i can think is new shocks stiffer so they help the weak springs support the weight of the truck so ride height will be higher:nenau

Did you try compressing them fully by hand

If a cardboard box will keep them compressed, do you really think they will hold the truck up? If as Stinka said they are presurised then they wont compress by hand at all. The pressure needs to be able to get out to let them dampen the bounce from the spring. IMHO

I am more than happy to be proved wrong though.

Well they were held almost fully compressed with some straps:augie and they r gas filled but if they r as hard as u say to compress how would u get them on:nenau ask the guy at 'llama4x4 he's a real nice guy:thumbs

Well so far only tried it on road a very light off road and it handles a lot better but time will tell when I go and do some really narly greenlanes when I have new springs but will keep u lot updated:thumbs

That was sort of my point, if you can compress them by hand, with around 40 kilo of force, how would you expect them to hold up the rear of the truck at around 500 kilo. Thay would just compress to the height where the springs take over from them.

Im not trying to argue with you about it, it just dont make sense to me that they will do it

But they r alot stiffer then the old shocks so the only thing I can think is happening is as its stiffer its helping the spring I thought the same way as u before I fitted new shocks:thumbs
