Gonna check the airbag connections under seats, passenger and steering, but what do I do to make it safe. Disconnect the battery I believe and lefr for 20 mins??? Got a very dim flashing light...

Yes disconnect the battery and wait 20 mins then have a gander at the wires, do not un-necessarily unplug and plug the connectors unless they look like water may have corroded them, they are very special in that the air bag side is shorted out once unplugged, this is to stop idiots from testing with an Ohm meter and possibly setting it off, trouble is on reconnecting you cannot be sure the shorting link has reset itself correctly, look for chaffed wires etc, Rick

Before you do anything is it worth running through the download to see if it resets it anyway. I know the download says for a flashing airbag light but still worth a try surely.

Tried reseting using the download, no success... its strange how when the light flashes its very dim, but will check connections anyway... the ones under the seat are well hidden!!

On the wifes 96 I could not reset it at all, took it into a local garage with a computer and he did it no problem, £20, Rick
