Hi, I have a 2005 2.7 with 44,000 on the clock.
I have been having this whining / highish pitched sound from towards the front of the vehicle for a while now, which i thought was the wheel bearings as it was there when turning left or right, even slightly (even steering wheel turned as slight as five to and five past).
However it has been getting noisier and is there even when I am stationary and I turn the steering wheel from side to side. Hard to describe but almost a tensioned / straining sound. All reservoirs are full. I never have a problem insofar as there is no power steering, just the the noise and shudder / vibration through the steering.
Any ideas... could this be the power steering pump or belts. If so is changing the pump a difficult job?
Cheers for any advice.
