Since I've cut the steering fluid cooler pipe loop out and re-joining it up with the rubber loop my pump has been squeeling like Chewbacca!!!!

Also I re-filled it with brand new power steering fluid (i'm going to check the level again tomorrow), when I got out and checked it earlier with the engine running the fluid instead of being jammy red was a frothy pink colour which sounds to me like it's pulling air in :nenau

I'm wondering if this could be related to the leaky flange thing on my power steering box? Rick said to clean it and check again and it's leaked exactly the same, here was the original picture

I wonder having done the body lift, had you aligned and adjusted the steering wheel drive shaft to allow for the extra lift?

If not it could put an upward force on the input bearing and seal of the steering box, and cause excess wear and damage to the seal, hence the leak.:nenau

Just a thought.

Rustic what a man!!!! I didn't actually do this when I did my body lift and I think you may have sussed that one!!! I'll undo the pinch bolt that Alex undid when him and Elty did his and hope that it relieves some pressure and stops it weeping, I hope it hasn't done too much damage.

Rustic you are a man after my own heart, the night time hours seem to be my brains most productive too for some reason :lol :bow :bow

Still not sure why the pump is making such a racket though, I'm going to see if a bit more fluid helps at lunch and maybe try tightening the belt some more?

If the fluid can get out, then air can get in much easier, hence the pink aerated fluid.
If fluid had air in, it cannot be compressed by the pump in order to work properly, so I would think one is the cause of the other.:thumb2

How come you didn't undo it?

Because I'm a knob Fez!!! :( :doh

I knew I needed to and even have 2 extra donuts to add onto the steering bits and bobs as Alex was going to after his mishap here;

I need to find out if Alex brought new longer nuts and bolts it sure looks like he did, this is a job for this eve, just hope I've not caused any long term damage to the steering box and the weeping stops :bow :bow
