Many thanks for all the help and advice

Help like this iswhy we pay our tenner..

Wonderful site.:clap

After having to clean my mini filter every 4 or 5 months (crappy Spanish fuel I would imagine), after the last time I left it out - that was about 18 months, 2 years ago. No issues since.

i have had my truck for about 4 years and this is the first time i have actually had to clean mine, so i will leave it there for now, it obviously serves some purpose...

Here is a picture of my banjo bolt

And yes, well worth the tenner....:bow

I used carb cleaner to clean mine up & it worked great:thumb2 to remove the filter it'll need prying out or as I did on my last T2 drilled it out.
Dave123 I just removed the power steering belt so I could move the pump back & forth to get to the banjo bolt, a 14mm socket or spanner for the P/S pump & a 17mm socket, long extension bar & a 17mm spanner to make sure the fixing in the pump stays put

Cant think what, as afternthe filter..

If the minifilter gets blocked with dirt then its doing something ie stopping it going in the pump.Cleaning the minifilter is much cheaper than a new pump:)

Yes...that was my thought, if its getting clogged its working...at least now I know the symptoms so will know for future, plus its a relatively simple procedure to complete...

Ah, true.

But not all have it fitted

the only problem with that theory is it is on the return, so any debris it collects has already passed through the IP, no it's real function is to restrict the return in order to create a steady pressure in the pump, some models have instead of the filter a metering orifice and others have neither, so it seems to be another Nissan quirk like the clutch pipe that went to the rear, that just ends up a pipe full of fluid and as fluid is not compressible it does nothing, Rick

Thought the banjo bolt on top of the pump was the in:nenau

no, absolutely no point the main filter does it all, why have a silly mini filter on the inlet?, as said it is a restrictor but not needed, Rick

I have re read this post and some of you will have read posts I have put on about my t2 Ip failed.
Rick, you say the banjo on the top of the p is the return to the tank.are you sure.
If it is on the Bosch Ip where does the fuel go into the ip.if the return is on the top banjo.
Because if you are right I have made a monumental mistake with my t2 fuel supply as I am feeding fuel to the top banjo from the tank.
Drip fuel into air intake and it starts and runs as long as fuel is dripped.
The way my fuel is piped turn it over takes a lot about 10secs and it uns but won't keep going with no throttle then dies,10sec restart and does the same.
I am leaving camp in the morning back to where t2 is and am stripping it down to get ready to fit the pump you have sent but not gone home to collect it.
So I had better replumb fuel to ip so banjo is out and find the in to ip and try it befor I strip it down.
Again the top banjo under the power stearing pump is the return to tank.
Thanks.

the inlet on the Bosch is at the front of the pump, the return is at the rear, and it is the same on the Zexell, Rick
