After doing the body lift I can now see that I have got quite a bit of oil around the bottom of the turbo and I get a whiff of burning oil now and then.
Could this be the start of turbo problems:nenau
Runs ok and don't seem to lack power just concerning me a bit.

I have yet to see an oil free turbo,pipes,inter-cooler etc, unless it is running in oil I would ignore it, I do have a turbo if you find you need it, Rick

what rick said, apart from i dont have a spare one you can have :lol

also check the blow by control valve as they like to block up and send extra oil down that way

Gonna give it a full service and check over all the hoses and stuff.last time I cleaned out the oil blow by pot it wasn't too bad but it was over a year ago at least.

Looking at your post again, I often do not read them properly, you say oil at the bottom of the turbo, this is more likely leaking oil feed or return pipes, give it a good clean up and monitor it, Rick

What and where is the blow by pot and is it something that needs cleaning or do you leave alone until there's a problem.

it is that black plastic oily bottle thing in front of the IC with the engine breather going to it and another hose draining into the sump and a further hose going to the air intake, it is an oil separator, the idea is that engine vapours go into this thing and the oil gets returned to the sump and the vapours get burnt, but that is the theory, in practice it does not separate very well and once your engine starts to breath a bit more oil mist it just feeds it to the intake, Rick

I will clean all the oil off and keep an eye on it to see if I can pinpoint a leak.:thumbscheers guys:thumbs
