I am running a 1997 Terrano 2.7tdi; I use biodiesel in it and generally it has always run well; unfortunately after possibly putting in a batch of less than perfect fuel it began to run poorly and the engine management light came on and stayed on. I cleaned the tank and in fact replaced it because it was rusty; I changed the MAF after some 'helpful' advice from the mechanic. I changed the fuel pipes and had the minifilter on the pump cleaned; at this point I referred to the Nissan owners forum and read the threads posted; I realised that the 'clacking' noise I could hear was in fact an injector; the injector was the no.1 injector; I ordered a scrap replacement for £50 and had it fitted; the vehicle now runs perfectly.

Firstly thank you to the forum for the information ( I have now paid my £10 dues) the second issue is the failure of this particular injector seems to be catastrophic and appears to have an impact on the running of the engine which was totally unexpected.

Without this experience I would have assumed that the cause was entirely to do with an air leak (through a poor seal on the filter or through a perforated fuel line). Perhaps my experience will help others.

I am also looking for replacement wings green (over the wheel arches) as mine are very corroded. Do let me know if any one has some for sale.

Thanks again,

Nice one - welcome to the nuthouse.

Wings for the MkII are not available new, you need to raid the scrapper or keep an eye on fleabay:thumb2

hello.

How rotten are they?
Mine had gone behind plastic trim, i welded thin strips of metal, to give basic shape, and create lip, then a skim of filler, followed by 1/2 Ltr of paint + 1/2ltr of clearcoat.
Made me smile, Ford paint code? "nissan blue":doh
