can someone tell me should there be any play back and forth in the drive shafts ? I don't have any in and out of the hub but I have about 10-15mm in rotation with the wheel on the ground and holding the drive shaft is this normal or is my cv joint shot ? thanks for any help

I guess you have fixed hubs? when you rotate the shaft look at the CVJ,does it move the same as the shaft, or does it remain still with the shaft moving within it, if so your CVJ is worn, if not then it is play in the fixed hub of which I have no knowledge as to how much there should be, but I would guess there should be some, Rick

rick its auto hubs and the whole shaft including the joint end in the hub has rotation . the actual knuckle has no movement on the shaft . its in the hub that has it
