I've noticed for a while now that there's a bit of a knock from the front end. Thought it was ARB links (still might be) but jacking it up, I can move the wheel with my hands at 12 and 6'o'clock. Not very much, but there's definitely play there.

Wheel bearings are in good condition and don't make any noise but I'm wondering if they can be/need adjusting? I have had the front hubs apart when I did the brake overhaul.

rock the truck side to side, if there is a knock then it's likely arb related.

Bearings can be adjusted, very easy.

Thanks Fez. I was worried about going too far when I did the disc swap I think, so perhaps I left them too loose. Is there a guide to how tight to make them?

Just rocked the truck. There was a high-pitched clunk once, then it stopped.

could be arb, track rod ends, drag link, ball joints or shocker bush, i had a knocking and creak the knocking was shocker bush and the creak was drag link, i've replaced all these items over the past 2 months i now have no sounds that worry me :lol

I think the track rod ends and balljoints are ok. I can just see that when I rock the wheel, the disc moves with it, so I suspect wheel bearings. I will do the drop links at some point anyway.

Play in the wheel 12 - 6 oclock will be wheel bearings assuming you're sure the ball joints aren't moving about :thumbs

Wheel bearings are easy to adjust, but would not think you would be able to detect that on driving unless they are very bad, Rick

Had a knock on the front of mine, worse while turning right at low speeds, sounded like the off side. Had a look around today and found play on n/S wheel, the near side bearing lock nut spun off by hand? The manual says 0.5 - 1.5mn however i dont have the tool or a torque wrench that goes that low so a few very light taps with screwdriver and rubber mallet to nip up and knocking sound has gone.

Thanks chaps. That's probably my first port of call. I can't see any play in the balljoints and generally, you often have to lift the weight of the wheel to find any in my experience. I'll try and get that done next week and will report back.
