theres a beginners day on another site around the peaks, all lanes suitable for standard trucks

If it's north peaks I could be interested, there doesn't seem to be much else up in the Manchester area.

I've been laning in the north peaks once, but don't know where the lanes are.
Last time we all met HERE.

thats the usual place to meet for a beginners day,

had a look at richos link for the jap 4x4 club to try and find out more info on meet.
truth is im a bit computer iliterate and have only just found my way around this site.
I would love to follow the leader and not worry about getting stuck.
but im just not ready for a while. my trucks not up to scratch.(ball joints, wishbone bushes)
but had a scout of the os map for future trips.
has anyone traveled these routes?
I could probably string a good days route together.
but dont know my trucks capabilitys or my nerve tolerance.
would rather follow.

you wont be doing hollinsclough or tagsclough hill in a standard terrano not unless you want to damage your truck

see wot I mean peeps.
wot a great site.
I dont even have to go and do my research on foot.
Ive already walked down the one going to three shires head.
It may be legal and ive seen bikes doing it.
It is potentially deadly.
I think It is best to join a club or go a walk down potential routes first

would 31" cooper stts with a 3" lift get down them as thats where I want to be.

you need to do a beginners day first with some easy lanes, get to know how ya truck handles and get some confidence with it, the beginners day on the other site has a little bit of everything that a standard terrano would manage no probs, also its best to go in a group in case someone gets into trouble, that way there is someone there to help them, also best to go with someone that knows if the routes are open or not as some of them have been closed to 4x4's

I might be up for this depending on my shifts and of course funds..

Cheers Gav

i go out most weekends on my quad around the derbyshire dales.i led quite a few runs a couple of years ago with the club which was suitable for beginers.
we used to meet at cromford in the pub carpark.
enough lanes to keep you busy all day.
i always put in a work around on some of the more challenging lanes but all are passable with care in a stock truck.
be good to get some mud under the wheels of the truck again but i would leave it a few weeks for the snow to clear as some of the drifts are still very deep(as i found out sunday)when i was out on the quad.
would be happy to share my knowledge of the lanes around with like minded folk.:thumbs

if anyone is wanting to meet there is already a day set for Sunday 28th April. send me a PM and i will give full details of how to join. :thumb2
