I want to plan a day out laning in the east mids area, Matlock Derbyshire etc.... with other members. The only problem i have is that i am a complete novice so i was hoping some of you guys on here could help and get involved. Im hoping to do it around the middle of April.

Just thought it would be an idea so that other novices like myself could get a bit of action and it would be good to meet other members.
If anyones interested, let me know:thumbs

I hear Carsington Water visitor center is a good place to start with lots of easy lanes in the area such as
LONGROSE FARM LANE
BALLIDON QUARRY LANE
MINNINGLOW LANE
ROYSTONE GRANGE
ROCKHURST FARM
CARDLEMERE LANE
GREEN LANE TOWARD PIKEHALL

come on get involved..... it might be fun!:bow

dont tend to get much response on here for planning laning days

I too am a novice, only had my Terrano for 2 months, but more than willing to join in for some fun as long as its only gentle off road to start with.

Get ya self to pindale quarry, then up monsal head, then Buxton old road, then holllinsclough on the way home, and roych clough on the way round :)

royche clough is closed

also if he only has a stock truck he will kill it doing hollinsclough

Thats the spirit.. my truck is standard except for mud tyres and a cb radio so i dont want anything too challenging just something to break the novice driver in.
is anybody else interested?

It's hard to organise laning days when folks are from Scotland, Kent, midlands etc

Best off with a local club tbh

Im up for joining you dude.
if for no other reason than Its better to go with some one else incase you get in trouble. I can read maps and with some advice from other members i can find decent green lanes for novices.
I darn't go anywhere till ive sorted some decent tyres though.
but If you local to hanley area and fancy a brew and truck chat meantime.
give us a pm.

Nice one mate.... now we just need someone who knows the lanes in the area :bow

as soon as I get chance I will get an o.s map out and try organise a route.
I too am an amature off roader so it will have to be easy going.
but like I said I cant go for a few weeks untill my tyres are fitted.
but I look forward to planning it
I will keep in touch.
