this is tragic news I cant believe it. I never actually met Chris, but had spoken to him, like many, on the forum and Facebook. A really nice genuine guy who had a lot of time for people. I always liked his calming points of view on the many subjects on here. Its so, so sad, my thoughts are with his family today.

This has been playing on my mind all night and two things have become apparent to me

1. As a tribute I'm going to purchase his book and have a good read of it, still available on Amazon IIRC

2. When the time is right, and things have settled down at home, should we make contact with the family and make them aware of all the posts he has made on here?

He had nearly 8000 posts, the family may not be aware that he came here so often and it may be comforting for them to come on here and read some of the enjoyment he had with us first hand through the good times and the bad :nenau

Tell me if that's distasteful but that's what I'd like if I ever passed on, touch wood I don't any time soon, I'm still in my 20's

I have just been on the phone with chris' wife, she sends her thanks for all the well wishes and condolences.

Although I think he was more active on here before I joined,so I don't recall his posts .Its sad to loos someone from such a friendly community and I can only hope his family will take comfort in the fact that he will obviously be misssed and so fondly remembered :rose

Really sad news :(

I never got to meet Chris but we had many conversations via PM here. He always spoke his mind and stuck by his strong beliefs. He was also happy to offer help and advice whenever he could.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this sad event.

He will certainly be missed here.

ive just had a message that chris passed away last night from a massive heart attack .... im waiting for this to be confirmed .....
Not long finished reading his second book, seems impossible that number 3 might not now see the light of day. Never met or spoke to you Chris, but I feel I know you through the club and your writings, RIP buddy.

I think its a nice idea mate and very well said

I am shocked, this really is sad news, especially as he was only in his 40's?
I only met chris a few times but enough to know what a nice chap he was.

my condolences to his family

im sure we are all thinking about his family at this sad time i enjoyed his posts and contribution to the forum please keep us up to date with regards to a forum card

I am deeply saddened to read this news. Plank had given great advice on a number of threads I had started.

This, I believe, is a fairly tight knit online community, as well as being open and welcoming to all newcomers. Plank played a pivotal role in this, and as a long time member, and prolific poster his absence will make us all a little bit poorer.

My thoughts remain with his family, and loved ones at this time.

Regards

Alan
