just a thought, lots of sites of this nature use photoshop to adapt photos of their vehicles, to see if the mods they are planning would look right, then share with other members and invite their comments.

Photoshop costs a complete arm and a leg - CS4 is about £600 !!! Dunno about you, but I'd rather buy a spare set of steel wheels and tyres for that money. Photoshop Elements is a lot cheaper - about £70, I think and does everything that most folks would want to do. I don't think it has "curves" but you can get a freeware Photoshop plugin that is very similar.

There is an open source (i.e. it doesn't cost you anything at all) photo editing application that is almost as powerful called Gimp that you can download here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

All of these tools have a steep learning curve. I've been fiddling with Photoshop 7, on and off - mostly off, for a year or two and am still a complete novice.

Cheers

All i do know at this stage is that other forums use this kind of thing without having to pay out that kind of money. it would never get off the ground if people had to pay.
Was just an idea. Ill still ask my lad and see if its feasible.

Have you an address for the forums you are talking about? Maybe I am misunderstanding. The Pentax (and other) photography forums up and down, that I've seen, have lots of users who process photos using Photoshop - but they *do* have to buy it.

Been using photoshop for years as I used to do graphic design and then for a while i when I was doing motorsport video I used to design all our DVD covers and disc artwork and all the menu screens etc using photoshop.

Theres loads of other software that can do the same thing - most digi cameras come with something, even microsoft paint can be used its just not as easy, though as Andrew says photoshop isn't exactly simple to get to grips with.

I did these with photoshop.

All we need is a thread really to start with in which people post stuff. If it takes off then it might warrant a forum area of its own but for now why not just start a thread in the modifications area and we can take it frim there.
