petrol or diesel

i am looking at picking up a T2 as a play toy but still road legal just wondering what folks think stick with the 2.7 diesel or consider the 2.4 petrol

My experience so far is that the petrol will outperform the diesel, but and there is always a but, the petrol will not like going through water so well, I have not done it yet but I do not think the spark system is well enough protected, that aside give me petrol any day, Rick

If you do less than 15k miles a year I would go with petrol. Cheaper to maintain much cheaper to repair.

I have a Diesel Terrano R3mR and previously a Merc 250 td doubt I will ever have a third diesel.

Been there, done that:lol Go for diesel for defo, cheaper on veg oil or bio typically 90p a litre.
Easy to run under water, loads of low down torque :naughty
