anybody had trouble with them lately?
mine is doing my head in:banghead:

I have had trouble with it for some time. they asked me to update my account a while back which I thought I had completed:eek:

I have just sold a load of stuff to go towards my wales trip.
and all the payments have gone into my old account which I cannot access.
I cant get into my old email address to change the password to access my paypal.
I phoned paypal and they found my money but cant help me as they cant access passwords.

they can reset it through the post in about 2 weeks.
I used my own money to buy some stuff ready for my wales trip thinkin I could transfer my funds within a couple of hours.

frustrated is an understatement.
I gave up smoking:splif 5 weeks ago. I really need one now:(

Make sure the email address for your paypal is updated on ebay. Could be why the money went into your old account.

There have been quite a few scammers pretending to be from PayPal, so watch out for that.
The fact that PayPal know where your money is, means it's safe at least.:thumb2

I set up a seperate bank account, with a debit card, linked to my PayPal account.
This way there is a buffer, as I control the amount of money in there, and reduces the risk of some *#'$¥* trying to empty it, and I can use telephone banking to transfer money into it.
As soon as I transfer the money, it is in the account within minutes, and I can then buy to that new limit immediately using PayPal.
This way I don't have to wait days to top it up.
When I do sell stuff, I can transfer it out of PayPal, and into my bank account, BUT this can take over a week or more.:doh

When I buy road tax on line, I transfer money into the bank account and use it as a debit card, thus avoiding paying the Credit card charge.
I also use the account to buy things on line too.

Our main account is not linked, as I don't trust on line banking:augie

Pretty sure I will get my money eventually.
Just having a moan as today's been pretty shitty.
Its been a great day to clean windows.but o stayed at home to chat to my insurance surveyed. I had a lot of roof damage in strong winds earlier I'm the year.
I lost a days wages for him to tell me they wont pay as the ridge tile cement is to blame cause it 60℅ damaged.
A very frustrating day. Time for a beer I think

We've had a few scam e-mails come around at work recently saying people have been credited for stuff they haven't even sold but there has been a breach of security and that they will need to call a number to gain access to these funds :doh

Why did you give up smoking buddy? I'm in The Lake District at the moment staying in a holiday cottage in Ambleside and I've been on the bong Saturday night and going to have another go tonight :thumbs

at this point in time I am asking myself the same question mate:(
a bong or ten would be nice about now.
im starting to think I am being scammed.
I set up and entered my new paypal account earlier.I also signed in about 4 times to this new account without any problem at all.
it didn't show any previous activity at all. but at least I was safe in the knowledge any more payments would be sent to this account. and yes I updated the email address on ebay.
I have had another £100 come in this evening.and I cannot access my account at all:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I had similar mail a while ago, it went to my spam folder, moved it and looked at it and decided if was rubbish so did not action the link, never had a prob with pay pal and still getting the spam that says it has been suspended, which of course it has not, so think you got caught, Rick

Having read post 7 (came in while I was typing) I would not trust the new account unless direct contact with paypal confirms it is valid, these scammers are very cleaver in setting up false accounts that look like a paypal account, Rick

Been getting the same ones Rick for a couple of years now plus ones from banks I don't even bank with:doh

How are you down? Have you sent the goods already?

Have you rang paypal from the number provided on their website? How do you know £100 has just gone into your account you can't access?

been on the phone twice today to paypal.
they verified the new account there and then.

checking my bank statements my paypal has been very busy without my knowledge. but I cant compare statements to paypal account either:(

Record the phone call with them confirming the money is safe, that's what I'd do

Paypal

I have had issues with Paypal recently I have no problem buying but when it comes to selling the funds were either returned straight back to the buyer - I lost 2 sales due to this or I could not access the money. I even took a cheque off one buyer whilst things were being sorted.

I was getting e-mails from Paypal on my old e-mail address and my new one, even though I had updated them with my new address. My old e-mail address was not in my profile but the new one was.

After about 20 minutes on the phone they asked me if I had ever had a previous Paypal account. I could not recall ever having one but when I gave them my middle name they had an old inactive account in that name with my money in it. I had no idea of old passwords but they manually entered my recent e-bay sales and all was sorted and the funds released.

I found Paypal surprisingly helpful in sorting the issue all done with the one phone call.

Most new sellers will have their money on hold until good feedback is received or a certain amount of days passes

I am slightly worried as ive never heard of creating a account on the phone. Could be legit? But id ring paypal first thing in the morning and find out whats going on. Ring the number on their website.

at last all sorted. I now have 2 paypal accounts apparently.
first thing I did was put the funds across to my bank:clap
took three days of phone calls with paypal to sort though:doh
