Now the disappointing bit. I measured these up perfectly, but when in they are squint :(
The top bit which I didn't do is obviously slightly on the piss which makes my drawers look like they don't line up :doh

Nothing I can do about that now, they are what they are. Oh well.

On top of the drawers, I've got the fire extinguishers, fridge, battery and air compressor and with all them I can't really place loose things as you would normally in the boot which really makes the top half unusable. I'm going on a big road trip soon to Scotland with the family and I need all the room I can get.

I had an old fire place guard that I managed to re-work in a way that works great in the truck. This I'm really happy about as it works brilliantly.

Gives me all the protection to the roof so I can stack right up and also keeps enough room around everything, the fans, so they can have enough air to keep cool and ventilate.

I've put the shovel back on the back a bit more permanently and as you can see, I've also fitted new mud guards. I was never happy with the black rubber ones the had curled up. They are a now distinct blue.

Fitted my traction boards that I had for a couple of years sitting in the shed. Fitted them on the roof rack but not entirely sure they are right where they are, but fine for now, they dont seem to create any wind noise that I can hear.

Whether this turns out a good choice or not, we will see, but I bought a cheap awning, this opens out 270 degrees so covers the side and back in one go. It will do for now anyway for my trip.

Once I got my head round it, it was not too bad to fit. Just careful measurement, drilling into the roof rack and bolting it all together. Probably took longer than it should but got there with it.

With taking this up to Scotland with the kids, those that have heard it know its quite noisy. For me it was spot on, but at cruising speed it was too noisy for my daughter to sit in it for 8+ hours so I really had to put another silencer in the system.

But I had a plan.

I got the guy to make a twin system.
As you can see, the 3 inch down pipe splits into two 3 inch pipes to make a much bigger overall exit.
The new exit has a V band clamp and plate at the end.
When this is in place, the exhaust gasses go through the 2 silencer system, out the back and is pretty quiet.

If I take the V band end cap off the gasses go through the 2 systems which one is unsilenced and exits under the car and is loud.

V band clamp and cap.

In place = quiet

Take off = loud

The down side to this is quiet is too quiet and loud is too loud I think. But I done it for the right reasons I suppose, it was too loud on the motorway before for a big drive for my kids but I think I preferred it :lol

You need a button or lever operated valve. Your little'un can decide herself which she prefers:lol

I did think about something like that, but being an off roader it will get caked with dirt/mud and would be a sure fire failure at some point I reckon :nenau

I have to say I got fed up with the head turning around town, I did like the sound of the straight through pipe, but on a journey it did get a bit heavy, so fitted a 24 inch straight through muffler, no difference in performance but sound is much reduced, Rick

Now to go with the blue mudflaps this will make more sense now.

Decided to put graphics on the truck.

I wanted to put something on that kept it distinct Nissan style, that was new style, retro style, and my own touch to it.

And this is what I came up with...

Super safari style graphic on the rear from a series 4 Y61 with RB Skytrol in retro graphics.

Y60 graphics style sling the front half in my colours.
