hi all, just noticed my patrol y61 seems to sit lower on the offside rear about an inch & a quarter seems to ride ok just wondered if this is normal or because the spare wheel hangs on this side ? or is it time to replace rear shocks measured it from the arch to centre of hub so its not the tyres any clues anyone ??????

My T2 sits lower on one side at the rear (can't remember at the min which side) but I've just put it down to 10 year old saggy springs but I have 2" lift springs to go on so hopefully that will sort it out:rolleyes:

Go on Sweety stick 'em on, wont take long then you wont look all wonky:lol
I did mine today and wound up the front, only took a couple of hours:cool:
Reckon it would be less in a nice warm garage:sly

Hello toddyboy.
Not too sure about standard spec springs, but when you replace with upgrade spec springs the offside rear spring is longer than the nearside. I enquired at Frogs lsland and TBR about this and apparently this is simply because most of the ride weight (with driver), especially when driven by driver only, is on that side of the vehicle. Therefore compensating the nearside ride height.
Just wondering if your springs are in the right way round ?

Before I changed springs and shocks on my trol the rear offside was sitting about an inch lower, changed shocks and springs and its still slightly lower. I got standard height heavy duty springs from Milners, but I didn't notice any height difference in the new springs:confused: have also read the haynes manual and it doesn't mention height difference. what it did say was note the position of the spring in the lower mount and fit new spring in the same position.

I'm trying to find my nissan cd manual as I'm sure it says something different!!!!!!

:D

Toddyboy, I've just measured mine from the same place you did. Centre of hub to wheel arch.

This is what I got

Front offside 22"
Front nearside 22"

Rear offside 21 3/4"
Rear nearside 22 1/2"

don't know how its the same at the front and different at the rear. You'd think if one spring was lower the opposite corner at the front would be higher???

I've even had the wife drive the trol and me follow in the car and it looks level front and rear.

I have noticed trols parked up and the rear offside looks lower.

What measurements are you getting with old springs?

:D

Did you find out what the problem was?

Did you get it sorted?

I've changed the springs round on mine and it still sits slighlty lower on the offside, its starting to really bug me now.

:thumb2

On mine it ain't the springs as they've been tried on both sides:nenau

Think I'll need to check all the bushes as its lower at the rear offside 1/2" and the front nearside 1/2" higher:nenau don't know if its the front or rear the is causing the problem:nenau

:doh I'm going to disconect the panhard rods first to see if it levels up
