I have an irritating fault with the light switch on my rear doors. When driving over a bump, the interior lights occasionally flash. I can't even find the switch / sensor on the rear door to see if it has moved or can be adjusted.

Anyone had this problem? Anyone know how to find or adjust the switch?

All (reasonable and polite) suggestions welcome

Ian

My patrol did exactly this some time ago from memory there is a rubber cover over the rear door switch and I folded a small piece of card and put it in the rubber over the end of the switch effectively making the switch longer and I have not had the problem since.

Hope yours is the same as this was a cheap quick fix.

Kind regards

Russell.

Some jags suffer with the interior light flashing and coming on over bumps, the answer was to use a type of foam insert strips to space out the sensitivity. A permanent fix :thumb2

The old switch could be sticking due to years of muck or you could even have a short in the switch or the wiring behind the switch best thing to do will be to find it &give it a good clean & lube with some WD40 & check the wiring at the same time & see if it stops flashing but if it keeps up you might need to space the switch out a tiny bit or replace it

Thanks for the suggestions. My problem was I could not find the switch. Having just gone out this morning to have another look (3rd time lucky) and still not seen it on the framework around the door, I have just noticed it on the bottom of the small door :doh.
Now I have found it, a few seconds with some foam tape and all is fixed. If only all problems were this easy.:)
