Thanks Ian, much appreciated.
That's the big job out of the way.
Some final stuff to do now in preparation for a trip to Andorra then west along the Pyranees in June.
She's evolving all the time, as these trucks of ours do.:thumb2

What's next in line to do Dave, suspension?

Whose organising the overlanding trip, sounds epic.

You've guessed it Martin. Suspension! (Can't wait!).

I've had the Dinitrol system for the truck stored away for ages, so I'll be prepping for that first. Found a farmer down here with an industrial steam cleaner I can use for the cost of a cider! He has the drive-over pit to.:thumb2

She'll be nice and black underneath to show off the Pedders red.

Pyranees.
I'm travelling with a chum to recce some routes on the Spanish side and make our way across to Bilbao. Marking the best camping spots to.

Looking forward to crossing the Millau viaduct for the first time on the drive down. The second stanchion (P2) is officially the highest structure in France, higher even than the Eiffel Tower. Anglo-French design!:thumb2

I thought about a starter motor as mine is an auto but didn’t think about a alternator. Not taking a thermostat if it goes I’ll just take it out, glow plugs are new this month the rest I have the same as you. I assume you have planned this all yourself? I would be concerned about going on my own if I got stuck or broke down in the middle of nowhere. Have you a winch on yours?

I'm sure if you needed assistance, all you'd have to do is post on here and some of us would come to your rescue:naughty

Aww thanks blocky, I’ll bear that in mind, can I have your phone number just in case :D:D

No problem. Zac and T-Doug won't let me go alone though:lol

Well perhaps I should go, breakdown, call you guys, get it fixed or winched out then we can finish the trip as a four lol, have our own overland trip :thumbs

As daft as it sounds that sorta appeals to me more than organising a trip for ages then doing it. If I have a reason/mission it makes things feel different, no worrying about stuff, just head down and get on with it, if you catch my drift :lol

Wheelie I never plan for a trip on my own.
I’m travelling with a chum. A golden rule in my book.
I have a Lodar controlled Goodwinch.:thumb2

Doug
The inflator is the good old 400p.
Simple on/off switch. :thumb2
Not switched at the gauge.

Just a little point here, removing the thermostat is very bad news, it not only controls the temperature but also the flow rate, the circulater/pump is very powerful, (look at my off road motor with rad in rear) so what happens is the flow is so great that at stud hole positions the coolant cavitates on the up stream side of the casting causing localised boiling which very quickly leads to ball bearing like holes in the head, if your stat fails shut then remove it and jam it open then the design flow rate will not be exceeded, and yes if yours is Auto take a starter, Rick
