Hi,perhaps it's the heater matrix/radiator thingy.....look at downloads, you can temporarily join the 2 rubber pipes together that are in engine bay, before they enter inside.....buy you will have no heaters !but a dry carpet till you get another matrix, hopefully its just water ingress from wheel arch but i doubt it if its warm.

If you have a sun roof check to see if that is leaking as will.
Often the drain pipes block or maybe disconnected.
Just a long shot.
But if warm water present would suggest a heater leak

If youve got anti freeze in the system surely ts unlikely the heater matrix would produce "clean" water? can you smell the antifreeze? though at this time of the year warm seems to be a bit of a pointer :?

After checking and silicon greasing the door seal, I would remove the interior trim panels , stick your head down into the footwell and once its dark get someone to shine a decent lamp along the outside of the car. Sounds bizarre but its worked for me in the past. (an engine bulkhead wiring grommet had become dislodged)

Alternatively instead of looking for the chink of light, remove the trim and go for the pressure washer on the outside but then of course youre encouraging more ingress.

Good luck.

Two sources I can think of but wouldn't be warm.

On the outside there is a grill panel below windscreen. Remove this and you will find a cavity, at the bottom of the cavity there is a oblong shaped panel, remove this panel and reseal it.

Open the door and look towards the lower hings, you can see the wing with a vertical opening, this opening gets clogged with mud. This muds stops the water running away and instead diverts it through your door seal. hose this mud away at both sides.

I had a water leak last week, on the nearside carpet, after heavy rain, normally the car is in the warm garage, so I know where to look now.
I guess you have to remove the wiper arms to release the panel.
In the past it has been wet after power washing. But I'll also check the innner wing for mud, but that should be clear as I have noticed that this is a mud trap and regularly flush it through.
Thanks for the tip Jim.
Still the best car I have ever owned, so I am still keeping it, had it from new 13 years ago. If it ain't broke ... don't fix it..
