I've done the 2" suspension lift on my truck and wondered about the panhard rod!:augie
Should this be made longer now to allow the axle to be in the middle?
Dont think its important but I'm sure the axle sticks out more one side:eek:

something ive always wondered too . yes it does look like that.

i reckoned it was about 10mm out , but i guess as both front and rear are driving parallel its ok .

in theory it should still be central as the hole centres on the panard rod are still the same and the axle should just pivot to sit central but 2"lower.
had the 2" lift springs on mine for over a year and ive never actually noticed.
then again ive never looked:lol

Doesn't want a longer rod it needs the axle mount moving up or the chassis mount moving down. A panard rod should sit horizontal at rest (or very slightly up to the chassis) to minimize sideways movement as the suspension moves - that said I've not noticed any issues from not moding it with a 2" lift.

Thanks Terranus, I hadn't noticed any driving issues myself. Just noticed it when I did the photos for plod  So then found adjustable ones for discos etc so asked the question :thumbs
I'll make up a new braket thing to lift the rod UP from the axle :D
Cheers

An adjustable is a good idea anyway cos even as standard its unlikely the axle is dead centre but ts a lot of messing around measuing diagonals to square it up.

What pics for plod - what you been up to this time?

Ah, you missed that one then :augie
I was advised by my friends in blue not to have such wide wheels n tyres:nenau
So we had bit of a difference of opinion on tread coverage and bulge coverage etc. I think you said there was an ongoing thread on PC PLOD. com about it too, with no great conclusion.
Anyway I took some pics with beastie level and showing the 4x4 response stickers etc. That's when I noticed the back being a bit out. Mind you I've since remembered a small incident when I parked it on it's side so it could also be to do with that :lol
