Further to my other thread on use of an odd tyre, is it legal to use a pair of similar sized tyres on one axle and another sizes pair on the other axle?
If so, would it be larger two on the rear axle?

I beleive it is the way around you say - think ferrari, X5, Smart car, porsche etc

Good, so that would be legal. The spare I have has a brilliant tread but is 215/80 x 15, whereas the others are 235/75 x 15. I know where I can get another good 215, so should be in order to use it to pair up on the front?

I think Terra might have thought you meant tyre width - thats not an issue.

As I said on the other thread, different rolling radius front to rear causes transmission windup in 4WD and would shag your transmission eventually, or scrub your tyres to shreds.....

Thanks for your help, guys. When finances allow, will get all four the same. The only ones i can afford currently advertised seem to be remoulds!

whats your price point PC? I remember when you couldn't get half decent tyres for these trucks for under £100!! Now £60 a corner or a bit less will get you decent rubber.

Well I have two good treaded 235/75 x 15 Grabbers which seem to be about £85 each, but have notices some Kingpins on the net at about £45 but they are remoulded.
My odd spare is a Michelin, and the similar one offered is a Federal.(both the smaller size)

you should find there are a few threads with decent budget tyres here...Runway Enduros are good, I've used them a lot and they are around £60.

Terrific site and prices - and in one of my favourite towns, Whitehaven. thanks Marra!
