Easiest way: take the entire assembly off the car. Might seem a lot of work, but it will save you a lot of time. On my car (I was lucky!) only the boots were torn, inside of the cv was still OK.
At the same time, you might want to replace the lower bump stops. If they haven't fallen off, they soon will. Since you'll be undoing at least one of the balljoints, replace those at the same time. If you haven't recently replaced them, you will not get them off without at least some of the bolts shearing.
And while you have the hub assembly off, check condition of front brake disc, pads, and wheel bearing. Easier to fix everything in one go
