This is the hose laying vehicle we use when there's a need plenty of water in remote areas. it has just over a mile of 125mm layflat hose and can retrieve the hose once the job is complete.

This thing will go most places and we have been into water that goes above the top of the tyres

Not sure done fireman yet...

Wonder how mrszippy ....

I guess the hose is in short sections that you couple together, other wise you would have to deploy the whole lot to use it, so how do you cope with the couplings on the drum? Rick

The hose is in 30 mtr lengths with quick release couplings, the retrieval unit has a conveyor belt system which can pull the whole lot up in one go, it's then layed by hand into the 2 compartments in the back.
The only time we break the couplings, is when we need to let water out if we are going up a slope, it's a juggling act between the driver and the unit and can be a pain in your clutch leg after a while.

It's a very handy bit of kit though, it has a built in tyre deflation and inflation system which you control from the cab and a pre select 8 speed box.

Ah right you do not roll it onto a drum but lay it flat, question answered, nice bit of kit though, Rick
