Hi guys any idea how remove the original radio/cassette player in a ford maverick?

Tried some keys I have but cant get them to slot in. :augie

ok just looked on ebay. seems like a need a tool, Tried releasing it with small allen keys but to no avail.

take off the surround.
mine was BOLTED in nott the "keys" as your thinking.

4 screws to at to, two lower nr ashtray.

you'll need and IOS lead ( ebay or halfords ) and maybe a new antena adapter depending on your new cd / radio.

nice one got it out, Luckily I didn't try and rip it out.

Seems like the original radio is bigger than a standard din. Is there any metal adaptors to make it fit snug?

hay i was right... wonders will never cease

MECARNO!

As long as you bend the tabs on the cage properly all will be fine:cool:
Worked on mine:thumbs

mine had a little plastic surround that fitted over the front around the radio , when i fitted the new stereo ( i still have the original import one if anyone wants it ) it just slotted over the front , was a perfect fit

radio

most radios allow you to use the original hangers

just be careful when you tighten the screws as some need washers to syop you damaging the inards

Yep as said the brackets unscrew from the original head unit and then its a case of ditching the cage and screwing the brackets on to the new head unit as said already beware of the inards of the stereo i had to cut mine down abit to prevent any damage on the pioneer unit that i fitted.
