Old bumper off. Note the wings either side of the chassis and the bar across the front - they won't be staying!

This hole was a little concerning on the radiator mount :( but a job for another day (just realise it doesn't look it in the photo but the surrounding is solid)

Cut protrusions off the chassis - they're not on the Aus spec ones and aren't structural (consensus is they're some sort of crumple point) and prevent you mounting the bumper - I checked the Patrol 4x4 forum :D Painted some Hammerite on the cut parts and any revealed slightly rusting spots (including mr. hole :hmh)

Winch bolted to bumper and bumper sat in front ready to mount (bugger me it was heavy to lift in front with the winch fitted! :doh). -ve cable and solenoid earth fitted to winch and fed through the front of the truck.

Lifting the bumper in front with the help of the loader and a lifting strap (after fitting the solenoid cables to the winch and feeding them through)

Finger tighten bolts while its supported by the loader.

Solenoid all connected up and bolted in place.

All done! :thumbs

You could have washed & painted the bumper first:lol:lol looks very nice :thumb2

:lol it's been sitting in the barn since it was delivered and I didn't have time for a tidy up before fitting!

Plan is to give it a tidy/freshen up some point soon but wanted it fitted before the weather worsens as it can get pretty bad round the farm and I'm addicted to ignoring closed road signs... :thumbs

Forgot to say, one unintended consequence of the extra indicator lights is that the trailer lighting tell-tale flashes due to the extra current draw - LED bulbs have been ordered! :lol

Good point wait till it warms up as you'll get a better finish & I'm sure you will find loads of uses around the farm for the winch that you haven't even thought about yet:augie

Cheers bud :thumbs now I just some really bad weather so I've got an excuse to use it! :lol

...either that or another laning trip :naughty

attack angle looks improved:thumb2
have to be honest:homer
conner stand the over headlight bars:augie.
I would of ground em off.

havin said that your doing a wicked job on your troll:thumb2
im jealous as ive done no mods for ages:(

goin green lanes again on sunday though:clap

Cheers Steve! Haha I quite like the over the headlight bars, if it does nothing else it at least gives me an idea of where the edge of the bumper is.

Not planning any more big mods for a while though, just swap the alloys for steels and fit a spotlight on a directional mount to the bumper (quite a nice halogen one that my grandad had sitting in his shed - figure it might be handy for any winching operations)

Would love to get out offroading in any way shape or form but opportunities are limited round my neck of the woods -I'm hoping some of the family might club together and get me a membership to the local offroad site for Xmas :D

Added a directable worklight :D Switch is on the back of it and there's a deadswitch under the bonnet. Gonna pop an LED foglight bulb in it (one of the "not for road use" types) to limit the drain on the battery - thought it could be handy when using the winch.

It's attached to a trailer breakaway cable secured under the bonnet to help make sure it stays on the winch bumper!

Should be handy in the dark mornings on the farm:rolleyes:You could also use an exhaust clamp around the top tube of the bumper with a metal plate attached to it then mount the lamp on the plate

ARB put two brackets on the top bar for attaching cb aerials or spots so I just bolted it to one of those :)

It would have been an exhaust bracket or similar if not for that though!

come a long way since we met up mate.you are an inspiration.
and im jealous. in a nice way:D

your bull bar is growing on me.
but you need a lift and 33s at least now :D

Cheers mate :D the things a lad can do when he doesn't have a girlfriend :lol

I blame Fez, Makeitfit and you... being in close proximity to your modded trucks over the Wales weekend gave me the bug! Reckon Rick passed it on a bit as well after showing those photos of his mud machine :D :bow

You been reading my mind?? 2" lift and 33s are definitely on the list! :naughty Would like to get the roof rack modded and roof tent attached first though plus I'll need to start thinking about saving for the Transylvania tour in 2015 so reckon I'll be changing rubber before I get round to doing the lift. She'll take 32" without mods so the plan is to put 235/85R16 Cooper STTs on her on black steelies (alloys are a bit tatty and I do like the look of yours!) although silver would match the spare :nenau

Loving the bumper, very jealous!

Know of any others for sale?

Regards,

Richard.

Cheers bud, so was I! :thumbs

Was VERY lucky to snaffle that one off ebay - only Troll winch bumper I've ever seen on there and couldn't believe it was an ARB one :D

Got mine for £350. That one is definitely overpriced at the moment

The Y61 bumper has brackets that you bolt to the bumper then bolt into captive nuts on the chassis (shared with the standard bumper) but that Y60 bumper may fit if the chassis rails are the same width on the Y61 :nenau

Probably need a wee bit of modding but I would have thought worth it if you get it at the right price as theres only 10mm difference in width between the Y60s and Y61s - Reckon I might have given it a bash if the other one hadn't come up first!

I would see what he does to the price as it gets closer to the end of the auction (my seller reduced his down and that's when I made my move :thumbs)

Looks like its the same one. Starting bid of £650 the first time and now £800 Buy it Now:confused:
