As far as i know the virtual pub is free to view, but its also possible that a member may have a young son or daughter with an interest in 4x4's that share their account and as such would be able to access such threads.

name calling and personal attacks are breaching the rules, be warned.
now i dont want to spend my afternoon sending people pm's warning them so pack it in.

no one wants to see the old way of moderating this site returning, lets face it it was sometimes very anal. in times long gone thankfully we have had some very nasty shout ups and it unsettles the site for weeks.

bats formula for moderating is to let MOST THINGS GO. we as moderators do keep out unless asked to intervene or someone is being a pain. fun is allowed and encouraged (and i dont see makeitfit's link is harmful )
this has worked for a long time now , without any problems. its a matter of give and take .
christ the off road members dont moan about caravan threads and they are not 4x4 related either. not every thread will be everyone's cup of tea .

so just give and take and accept you might not see the funny side , but others might.
having said that if something offensive or nasty is put on here we will act firmly . but luckily we have a good bunch here and this has never happened

wow, just had a catch up. I saw the orginal post and being a boy naturally took a look and enjoyed it very much several times over.

I am a big softie me, but not much phases me or upsets me in the way it has others on this thread. I think the warning was suitable, and the fact it was added via a link rather than some direct way into the thread was also a second safe guard. Another point is perhaps most members on this site are over 18 (hence why they own a car) and if random children are viewing the site then the parents need to deal with that, if tthe sort of material upsets some folk, then honestly, they shouldnt have followed the link.

Not sure if i feel appropriateness even comes into this, it was in the virtual pub afterall, so starting a pub fight over it i suppose is also to be expected. i think its healthy to hear someones opinion, debate or whatever, because thats how we learn about each other, and thats how we (if we can act like adults) can get along better.

come on guys, dont fall out, youre a great bunch on here and i hate to see people falling out.
