For ten years I had the Skoda Octavia during which time I had 2 punctures and putting the spare on was a doddle.
I've had the Maverick less than 6 months and already got a flat.
So I pulled in to a convenient place, located the bottle jack, handle and wheel brace, I then removed the spare wheel cover (breaking the elastic cord in the process) revealing a shiny new pirelli. The process of changing began.
Having finally changed the wheel, it took me twice as long to get the ruddy flat one back onto the door, the wheel was too heavy and my varifocals kept slipping down my nose so the holes appeared in the wrong place, much to my shame a passer by did it for me.
Sure sign of old age kicking in.

That ain't old age, they are an arse to get on anyway.:doh I found the lighter alloys are easier to get on the back:D

Don't have any problems with my rear wheel, some times I take it off to clean behind it, and.................wax it.:thumb2

I up graded my tyres to 185/75/R15's a long time ago, but I had to fit some spacer shims, ie thick washers, to give more clearance between the tyre and the rear windscreen washer.

That's cos you eat 3 shredded wheat in a morning:lol:lol:lol:lol

I've noticed the spare wheel is different, the wheel that got the flat had a hub cover that protruded which would not fit the spare. Also the 4 wheels have concave alloy spokes. The spare has a flush disc with the Ford logo and convex spokes. Is this intentional so you don't forget to get the puncture fixed?

Good result, the tyre was repairable rather than buggered so it's now back in place, the spare is a lighter wheel so I think at some point a set of 4 alloys were obtained, but I got it on the door no problem.
