not me, can't understand why people record what speed they do.

an effin prat that is who it was, I never want to meet him/her on the road, Rick

If the 2.7Td can reach 100mph (SAT Nav speed),so I've heard, so the 2.7Tdi or the 3.0 Tdi should reach 110.... eventually on a track of course.
Well if the winds behind you.

I wonder if he started the run with a full tank though

4000 rpm could be about right.

If he had smaller wheels / tyres etc, then his actual speed would be a lot less.

I can red line mine up to third but really don't fancy trying in 4th
Things can get a little erm interesting at speed in mine :lol
However as said above it's doable easily if it's chipped for example:sly
I'm running on 33s and get about 8% over read on the speedo:augie Top end gearing is advantaged with bigger wheels too:rolleyes:

Did we really need to see that? Or am I just getting old? Drive at speed if you dare but why video it and post to the world? Got to be an ego thing!
And I assume he's holding the camera so that's one hand left on the wheel
I have seen far to many accidents to be able to even vaguely condone this behaviour. Speed isn't the killer - it's the driver's ability to cope at that speed.

Ok rant over!

Not sure , rev counter at 4000rpm should be more like 3000 at motorway speeds

My old TD Mav was clocked at over the ton after I sold it, Luckily I could prove it wasn't me

Brian

Its actually not that far out.

The automatic on standard tyres does an indicated 90mph at 3000rpm, so if he was driving an auto he'd be doing an indicated 120mph (!)....so unless his speedo is seriously shot....

The manual does just under 3800rpm at indicated 90mph so at just under 4000rpm (which he's showing) he'd only be doing about indicated 95mph.

I'm guessing he's got big tyres on so his speedo is over-reading a lot more than the normal 10%.

Such vids are meaningless unless he holds a second phone in front of his satnav to show the actual speed.

That way he stands a much better chance of doing us all a favour and killing himself. :lol

No ! wrong way round, smaller tyres will indicate a higher speed than he is actually doing.
