Ok, so I have come up with a whole new idea ;)

so who's up f0r giving it a go? :lol

funny i hadnt thought of that.... im liking the idea too,

sadly, behind my plastic arches i dont have any lip/arch any more so if i went down that route it would all look a bit crap. but saying that if you was not cutting tha arch quite so much , you could do planks idea of adding extra wing sections quatro style and a good look too
maybe a route for makitfit

i was going to just scribe some shogun, surf type ones to fit the t2 body if i can find a good circumference (not as yet)
failing that i will make some in that style and put some vents in for good measure

i also like the idea of spacing the original arch piece off the car, i suppose this would be the best option if you was to get several made up to sell on to club members and ebay etc 30-40mm would be a good standard if you took this route

looking at the quattro pic, would it be possible to cut across the wing half way up (where there is a crease/ indentation) pull the lower half forwards and fabricate and fill etc. te gap to flare the whole wing front and back?

though i do beleive flared 'wings' would probably be more prone to damage off roading?, and those cheap rubber arch exstension things are flexible and robust aswell as cheep an easy, so maybe they do have their plus points.

even better. but you will have to add a piece to the bit you pull out so make it stretch further, but now we are cooking. lots of new ideas, what a club:cool:

ya know what sod. it im doing planks arch extensions:thumbs

Frontera swb rear arches ? :nenau

thats about it... i now the breakers have loads of them most rust free . just blown engines. so good donors

prob be good to take them off with an air saw , you dont really want the panel to distort by heat cutting.

But do you know what Colin - the simple ideas are always the best.:thumb2

Your bits of polyboard might not make the centre pages of TerranoSexTruck Magazine (mmm thats got me thinking! LOL), but wtf, they do the job exactly as required with no other effort. :nenau

Why not spend your time on something you haven't yet done?

I took the spare wheel carrier off mine last night and chucked the spare inside and realised that (i) it had a cleaner look, and (ii) it would be an even cleaner look AND better departure angle, if that ugly-butt rear bumper was a bit shorter....:doh

Or work out a bracket arrangement for fitting spotties to the front of the truck without a bull bar and without mounting direct to the bumper..

I'm sure theres more....:kissy

Go back to basics and ask yourself what you want from this truck..."show 'n go", "gets you through anything", or somewhere between the two?

im still working on the wheels set up ...arches are a long way off. but i will go for the plank/darwin arches eventually pencil'd it in to the master plan

yep sorting the rear out too but i cant give all my ideas away, just yet

im just really happy people are really thinking and throwing ideas around

i like the idea people are questioning what can and cant be done. with a little imagination and team thought

take this thread for example it started off asking a question. already we have a good problem fix. it evolving

i cant wait for pete's input:eek:

it would be nice if you could do, to keep it nissan, maybe look at other models for doner stuff including panel cut outs, remember the old nissan laurels? think of the widest range you can and imagine the creative cuts you could do to the panels, if you can find them of course.

Have you tiried those new really thin cutting discs in your grinder only about 1.5 mm thick? they are very good, fast, straight, cool, cuts and very economical, a normal sized grinder and a little generator you can cut anything you like, anywhere you like :thumbs

oh yeah you got to keep it in a case... people will think your up to no good !:nenau:nenau:nenau
