oily shoe

just been to tescos and back ... a distance in total of about 3 miles ....when i got out of the car i noticed a couple of drops of black oil on my shoe ?....... wot the fuff could it be ? ... car interior smells sorta metal type smell , but not a hot metal smell if that makes sense .... fluids appear normal levels , but will check when its cold too ........ any ideas ? :nenau

Just wondering did you leave your vehicle to warm up for a loooooong time, and have you been sitting there with the cab getting extra hot...I am thinking either a grease/lubricant thinning down and just dripping from somwhere....or sometime you catch your foot on the running boards or underside, in this weather with all the crap on the roads it would give the impression of oil...maybe !!!!???

just tried washing it off in water ...... nope it doesnt wash off .... the water just runs over it ...... i tried both hot and cold water .....now im mega worried

Then it is not from inside the car, my guess is you have picked it up from somewhere else, clean it off and stop worrying about it, Rick

i have no idea how it got there rick , i have obviously been to the rear door of the car , im even more confused now

thing is adz , that i rely heavily on my truck for mobility and if this is a sign of something wrong , its better to catch it before it causes a major problem , but then perhaps i worry too much .... or not as the case might be

My shoes have nearly as much tread as the Mav :lol :lol

Had you been in Tesco before you noticed it?

Could it be a blob of grease dropped off the restraining arm under the rear door, or tow bar.?
