just been to tescos and back ... a distance in total of about 3 miles ....when i got out of the car i noticed a couple of drops of black oil on my shoe ?....... wot the fuff could it be ? ... car interior smells sorta metal type smell , but not a hot metal smell if that makes sense .... fluids appear normal levels , but will check when its cold too ........ any ideas ? :nenau

so is it on top of your shoe ?

Just wondering did you leave your vehicle to warm up for a loooooong time, and have you been sitting there with the cab getting extra hot...I am thinking either a grease/lubricant thinning down and just dripping from somwhere....or sometime you catch your foot on the running boards or underside, in this weather with all the crap on the roads it would give the impression of oil...maybe !!!!???

the oil is on the top of my shoe ...all i did was drive to tescos and back

If it rinses of in water, its brake fluid, leak from master cylinder? Rick

just tried washing it off in water ...... nope it doesnt wash off .... the water just runs over it ...... i tried both hot and cold water .....now im mega worried :(

Then it is not from inside the car, my guess is you have picked it up from somewhere else, clean it off and stop worrying about it, Rick

just dipped my finger in this stuff ( was curious ) .... and it stinks ... very sorta horrible plasticiny type smell

im thinking lsd oil , because this stuff is quite thick and it stinks ... am i right ?:nenau

So you been crawling under the rear diff then Pete and got the top of your shoe to the underside of the diff, contorsionist as well eh, Rick

thing is adz , that i rely heavily on my truck for mobility and if this is a sign of something wrong , its better to catch it before it causes a major problem , but then perhaps i worry too much .... or not as the case might be

cheers rick , will try that and let you know ..... it had to happen on my new light tan leather shoes tho :doh

Do you think you were wearing the right shoes for the current weather?
My shoes have nearly as much tread as the Mav :lol :lol

Had you been in Tesco before you noticed it?

Could it be a blob of grease dropped off the restraining arm under the rear door, or tow bar.?

Pete, Youll have to keep out of Divas Delight Sauna Bar, as this is what happens when you order a "CLASSIC WITH OILS :augie :augie :augie
