im looking for this info to but also the amount in each i have a 2000 (x) reg lwb 2.7 tdi if that makes a diff

thanks for putting me in the right direction just 1 question how often should i change the gearbox/tbox and diff not big off roader but will be pulling caravan at least twice a month hope some1 can help.

As many times as you can offord :augie

I think gearbox n diffs might be as high as 80000 miles :nenau

But i'm doing mine once a year due to off roading :thumbs

Just to add, the manual states 3.5ltrs for the manual gearbox this is correct for the earlier box with the filler/level plug on the left-hand side, but the later box with the filler level plug on the right-hand side holds a tad over 5ltrs. A year 2000 t2 should be the latter.

Gearbox and tbox and diffs I use EP 80/90 and COMMA LS80W-90 LIMITED SLIP GEAR OIL in the rear if you have the LSD rear diff

dont all have lsd on rear but normal diff on the front might be wrong if wrong how can u tell if it has lsd on rear

Get both rear wheels off the ground and spin one of them..........If they both go round the same way then you have LSD.If one goes the opposite way then you don't.There will probably be a sticker on the rear diff telling you if it has LSD.

A lot of motor factors down here sell the COMMA brand in the red plastic cans so I use that most of the time.

Preferably try and get your hands on some GL4 75W90 for the gearbox and trans.box if you can.
