Just gave it a service: oil and filter and new air filter lights still on so I will be attempting the switch near the alternator hopefully it’s straight forward I will be replacing it with a gauge or would it be better doing the switch under the turbo??

Doesn't matter which one you run the gauge from, low pressure one (passenger side) is the easier one to get to so just use that :nenau

Well tried that and the pressure sensor they sent is wrong thread size [emoji58] and I looked everywhere for the other one and can’t find it

1/8 bspt is what you want from memory. Both pressure switches are the same thread size anyway.

Just looking at your previous post again, I'm confused as turbo and alternator are on the same side of the engine. There's only one switch (the low pressure one) on that side, underneath the turbo. Remove the filter housing to give you better access.

The other switch (high pressure) lies on the drivers side down near the starter.

Right well I need a pressure switch that will fit now [emoji58]

Do you mean the sender for your gauge? Most tend to be 1/8 ntp but you can get adapters fairly readily from memory I think, sorry dude was a few years (and a whole Trol) ago :(

Yeah I’ve bought a relocation kit so I don’t have to faf around under the turbo and I’m going to still try and get the factory one to work don’t ask me why I just want it right lol but it will house the original and the new one as it’s a T so should be interesting

My oil lights been on for over 5 years.
When it goes out I check the oil.
I just keep an eye on the temperature gauge.

Yeah I know well I’ve just give it a full service and the engine runs like a dream but just want the light sorted.

I tried that and gave up getting things to work with the factory pressure switches in the end.

Thing is even if you can get the pressure switches (and therefore the warning light) functioning as they should, one of the switches WILL go again and end up needing replaced (and like I said it's usually the other switch on the driver's side that goes). So even though you'll be able to check the pressure off the gauge, you'll still have a warning light on :nenau

Ultimatley I just used the low pressure switch as a bung for the other outlet in the tee and earthed the wire to the high pressure switch (fairly sure it's the high pressure one that is earthed in normal running whilst the low pressure switch sits open).

One thing with the relocation tees, I tried one and went back to a normal tee as I found I had to run a seperate earth wire to the body of the relocation tee to make sure the gauge sender could work.

Well not the oil light but progress I think [emoji848]

I had already ordered new discs and pads as it felt spongy but then.....
Passenger side calliper decided it would be fun to be seized on and rusted and pitted [emoji58]
So that’s knackered. Drivers side not to bad but still worth a rebuild so while I was annoyed I just ordered callipers for the whole thing fronts and rears and 2l of new fluid half thinking might as well just get braided lines while I’m here too [emoji19]

Your pics are huge!!!! :lol

Had to zoom Chrome out to 30% zoom to fit it on my 15" laptop screen :lol

Good graft matey :naughty You going to order brand new calipers?

Not a Nissan, but my Land Cruiser had an advisory of low rear pads on its last service, also had a wobble under braking, so decided to fit new disks and pads all round, backs went well, problems started when took the fronts to bits, off side had one piston that was very hard to move and the nearside had two of the four pistons sized solid. Ended up fitting new front callipers as well as disks and pads, cost a bit but what a difference it has made to the braking, needed sorting and am well pleased I did it.

Regards

Russell.

Yeah I just ordered all of them mate fronts and rears if the rears are anything to go off I just thought I might as well just buy new and I will never have to look at them again.

Yeah I like big pictures to get my point across lol [emoji2957] I will get more pictures when all my parts arrive.

Gunna be about a week I think with deliveries so lots of goodies coming also going to drain all the old fluid out as it feels watery so that prob won’t be helping matters

Full shebang then! I'm guessing you did the hub bearings as well?

Yeah whole lot need to pop it back apart tomorrow tho as I need to put some bearing caps in I didn’t realise that they used them as everything I looked at didn’t have them in.
