If you put shims in then you have slackend the bearings off, you need to remove shims till you have no play, Rick

So should I do both sides evenly or just the wheel with the wobble??
It’s just had new kingpin bearings so I should be using different shims?

Usually if you put new bearings in you need some shims mine did not have any so I made some temporary to get the correct tightness of the bearings then using feelers worked out what shims I needed to order from Nissan, yes check both sides for zero play, Rick

Double check for play before you go messing about with removing shims, most folk just put the same shims back in and usually don't have a problem.

Google "Patrol Death Wobble" there can be many causes but worn panhard bushes seem to be a common one.

Yeah I know all of that it’s only the passenger side that has movement so I’m thinking just order a few different sizes off Nissan then and trial and error them.

If it has movement then you want to be removing shims not adding, Oh and they are not cheap, Rick

Yeah but they do them in different thicknesses so I was thinking measure mine and buy 1 set bigger and 1set smaller

Hi, a little bit of of advice regarding your RTT cover, you will need to feed it between the tent and the awning so it hangs down in front of the rear passenger door otherwise when/if it rains the water will sit in the cover and soak into the canvas. I learnt that from experience [emoji16]

Those are the XP (extreme performance) AVM hubs, I would say you'd be fine with silver/red HP AVM hubs or even the silver/black standard AVMs :nenau

I had HP AVMs on my previous Y61 and never broke one, even with a Lokka but my Y60 came with the standard AVMs and touch wood I've had no issues and she gets well offroaded.

I'm not sure exactly which ones you run Rick but they're either HPs or standards (could make out the shape but not the colour in the pic I saw!)

Yeah it’s got a different set on but I don’t like the fact it has tiny star bolts holding it on I would prefer this as it’s one piece straight to the hub if that makes sense

Yes Rob mine are the black ones, no issues with them other than strip after wadding and re lube, Rick

I know what you mean but the only thing is dude, you put tougher hubs on you are likely just going to move the point of breakage further into the axle. A hub breaking is annoying but really easy to replace compared to a CV or something else, especially on track :nenau
