Was under earlier just having a look at stuff, planning my rock slider brackets and just having a good look for any problems when i noticed an oil leak dripping off the sump. ? Its only very minor at the moment, Probably rear crank seal but I will do sump gasket as well when i get around to doing it, oh and the clutch :lol

Anyone done crankseal ? Is it just the usual flywheel off, rip it out with a pick and tap a new one in with a socket etc ??

Check the sump itself as they are very prone to rust

Do i need to drop the diff off to do the sump ?

well, its only drive shafts unbolt and 5 bolts on the diff from what i can see, no biggie ...

none of these jobs have been nice so far :p

Just in case...

Are you certain the oil is from this area?
The reason I ask is that during a dealer service on my may, they adjusted the tappets and left out a grommit on the cover, this resulted in oil flowing down the back of the engine and onto the sump.

It's easy to check, get a rag or paper roll and wipe the rear of the cylinder head below the rocker box cover gasket.

Have you had the rocker box cover off recently...?

Just a thought.:nenau
